The Role
As an Operations Planner, you will coordinate engineering resources across multiple live projects nationwide. You will be responsible for scheduling, logistics planning, compliance tracking and supporting the smooth delivery of site-based works.
This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands field engineering operations, and enjoys solving logistical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule and allocate field-based engineers across UK sites
Manage engineer availability, workload planning and travel logistics
Coordinate materials and resources alongside live site activity
Monitor project timelines and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts
Maintain accurate operational records and databases
Track compliance requirements, including PPE certification and expiry dates
Liaise with engineers, operations teams, suppliers and internal departments
What We’re Looking For
Essential
Experience in engineering, construction, or field-service planning
Strong organisational and diary-management skills
Ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously
Confident communicator with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to adapt and reprioritise in a fast-moving environment
Desirable
Awareness of OFTEC Regulations
ADR Awareness
Knowledge of RAMS (Risk Assessment & Method Statements)
Experience coordinating plant hire or engineering logistics
Understanding of working at height or confined space procedures
